STI screening
WHAT: STI Screening means you are being tested for a full range of Sexually Transmitted Infections at the same time. A screening usually is done through a blood test.
WHY: Since some infections can pass to your baby through the placenta or be transmitted during labor and delivery, your doctors need this information from both partners before pregnancy.
HOW: You will be checked for Hepatitis B surface antigen, Hepatitis C antibody, HIV, RPR (serology), Rubella titer (one time only), Blood group and RH (one time only). Negative infectious disease result must be documented every twelve months.
